Arvind Kejriwal attacks BJP, Baijal for delay in development work

NEW DELHI: Ten days after AAP won the Bawana assembly bypoll, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal reached out to the people of the constituency on Thursday along with industries and urban development minister Satyendar Jain. He said he was there to deliver on his promise of new roads, drains and other civic infrastructure.
Setting an eight-month deadline for the road and drain projects inaugurated by him, Kejriwal did not miss the opportunity to take on BJP and lieutenant governor Anil Baijal. He alleged attempts at "interference and obstruction" in the elected government's work and emphasised that if Delhi was a full state, the AAP government would have been able to do a "lot more".

The CM announced that in the remaining two-and-a-half-years of his term, sewers will be laid in 1,000 unauthorised colonies. "There are 1,700 unauthorised colonies in which people who came from states like UP and Bihar in search of work settled down. So far, we have laid water pipelines in 306 colonies. The remaining will get water supply, roads and drains in the next 2.5 years," Kejriwal claimed.
Continuing with his tirade against the LG and BJP at the Centre and in the corporations, Kejriwal said, "Our government has no power; all power is with LG. BJP interferes in everything. Despite this, we have been able to do so much work. They obstruct everything and stop work by raising objections over small things."

He raked up the recent public spat with the LG over approval of mohalla clinics. "AAP MLAs sat on protest at the LG's house and said they will not leave till the file was approved. Finally, the LG had to approve the file. Jab seedhi ungli sey ghee na nikley toh ungli tedhi karni padti hai (Work has to be done by hook or by crook)," he added.
Thanking the people of Bawana for voting in large numbers for AAP candidate Ram Chander, Kerjiwal assured them that his government will not break their confidence.
