Telangana will vote to elect its second assembly on December 7.Once the voting ends, much awaited exit polls for all the for all the 5 states which voted in the last one month will be released together. Looking forward to exit polls , here is a view of Telangana's exit polls scenario.

The youngest state of India was supposed to have its second assembly election in May 2019. But caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) dissolved the assembly in September 2018 and convinced the Election Commission to hold the election in Telangana along with four other states in December 2018.

Observers explain that KCR chose to hold early elections to avoid beng merged with 2019 general elections.KCR is said to be confident of his win and hence took the risk of early elections.

Major political parties contesting the election in the southern state are KCR's Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS),Telugu Desam Party (TDP),Congress,Telangana jana samithi,Communist Party of India,All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and BJP.

To defeat TRS, Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI have come together to form the 'Mahakutami', the grand alliance, while BJP is contesting alone. In 2014 BJP and TDP were allies but since then TDP has lost 12 of its 15 MLAs to TRS. Eventually, TDP joined the coalition with Congress for 2018 elections.
