I am so happy that India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi conferred with Zayed Medal in UAE on Wednesday.
Zayed medal is UAE's highest civilian honour. Prime Minister has been given the award for giving a "big boost" to bilateral strategic ties , UAE said.
President Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of UAE conferred Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the award,the highest decoration awarded to kings,presidents and heads of states.
Modi visited UAE for the second time as Prime Minister in February last year and held wide ranging talks with the crown prince.
After their talks the two sides signed five agreement related to energy sector , railways , man power and financial services.
The Prime Minister's first visit to the UAE took place in August 2015.
Modi recently recieved the Seoul Peace Prize for 2018 for his contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth.
Expressing her gratitude , external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said that UAE has not only honoured the prime minister but also the country and its people.
In the past the honour has been given to leaders of several countries including ,Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin , Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Queen of the United Kingdom Elizabeth II .
